Updated Status:
I am no longer teaching small group classes at the Iron Lodge Strength Club. I am, however, working at the Westerly Rhode Island YMCA as one of their Personal Trainers. If you haven’t had an opportunity to check it out, you should. It is a great facility with 2 pools, racket ball courts, basketball / pickleball courts, spin room, multiple group exercise rooms with a variety of classes (Yoga, Pilates, Zumba etc.), childcare and they also have a fantastic wellness floor with lots of cardio equipment and resistance machines and free-weights.
I am currently taking on new clients and will be teaching a small group training class starting in March (1 day a week). This group class (3-6 participants) will focus on fundamental movements and principles that you will be able to apply in other areas of your program. This class will be $135 for members of the Y. But if you’re not a member check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the facility. Especially since they now have such an awesome personal training staff. ;o)

I am a Nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). I am also a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach as well as a CrossFit Level 3 Coach. I have been a certified personal trainer since 1995 and have been certified with A.C.E. (American Council on Exercise) and A.F.A.A. (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). I have coached athletes from the high school & college level as well as individuals, out of school, looking to improve their fitness level. Most recently I have been taking an interest in the Master Athlete (Athletes over 40) who still wants to compete in the most brutal game of all... The Game of Life. My #1 priority is strength development. Strength is the greatest of all physical attributes. Strength makes all physical attributes better. Strength is the basis for power, agility, speed, endurance, and balance. These are the capacities that allow us to meet the demands of life and our environment. As you get older, strength is often the difference between independent living and a nursing home. I believe that a healthy individual is first and foremost a strong individual that moves well. That is why I typically focus on strength training with proper form above all else. If you are looking for someone that believes in the golden rule of quality service (I give the quality service that I would like to receive) then I am the coach for you. |
