Renovations Complete!
We completed our renovations and expanded the inside of the Iron Lodge. So if you haven’t been inside in a while, come by and check it out. I think you will be impressed. We are also proudly displaying an amazing metal Iron Lodge Strength Club sign gifted to us by some of our members. We appreciate their thoughtfulness and generosity!
"Own the Change"
In-House members just finished the “Paint” Program. We are testing strength this week and will be starting a new program that I am calling “own the change”. This new program should last approx. 20 weeks.
Why is it called “own the change”?
Ever since I have been a trainer my #1 goal with every client is/was to plant the seed of motivation about fitness and to teach independence. I expect my clients to learn everyday and everyday become a little bit more independent. Some trainers and some gyms love nothing more than to keep you in the dark about the secret fitness magic that only a few privilege elites are allowed to know. Well I am here to tell you the knowledge is here for you to absorb if you want and its not a secret (at the Iron Lodge). Its hard work.
Without getting too deep in the weeds, in-house members are going to be doing more floor presses, DB bench presses, and drop sets to complete movements. We are also introducing belt squats and Hatfield box squats into the program as accessory lifts. We are also adding in height changes with the deadlifts (elevated block pulls and deficit deadlifts) with various weights to see the effect on our overall deadlift numbers. In an ever present effort to strengthen pull ups we have also introduced a pull up assistance station that can adjust the exact weight needed to get however many pull ups you want to get. As you get stronger you will be able to lessen the amount of assistance needed to where eventually you will be doing pull ups on your own. Why do I focus a lot on pull ups? Because they are hard. Also because nobody strengthens their back enough. Go into any commercial gym and you will see 10 bench press stations, maybe 1-2 lat pull down stations and if you are lucky 1 pull up bar. A person that can do pull ups is STRONG. You can get Strong here at the Iron Lodge!
